For
over 35 years, the family of Sierra Spray Foam Roofing (SSFR) has
been pioneers of polyurethane roof systems. Bob Stepps, founder of SSFR
began insulating poultry barns in 1968. Since then, a second and third generation
has joined SSFR to continue their legacy in the spray applied polyurethane
foam (SPF) roofing industry. We service a wide variety of roof systems for commercial and residential clients as well as hand crafted wine storage applications. SSFR has clients throughout California & Nevada such as, Robert Mondavi Vineyards, SASCO, John Hancock Insurance, Signature Fruit Company & Charles Krug Vineyards. We are available for work in most regions of the Western United States. A SPF roof system provides a permanent solution for both Commercial and Residential roofs. The only maintenance required on a SSFR roof will be anywhere from 15-20 years after your roof is applied. Then, only a new coating (recoat) will be necessary to keep your foam roof insulating and protecting your home or building. Both 15 & 20 year manufacturer warranties covering both labor & material are available on commercial buildings. SSFR offers a 15 year & lifetime warranty on residential roof systems. SSFR has offered the 15 year no leak warranty since its inception in 1968. (This warranty covers labor & material for the entire warranty period.) What is a spray applied foam roof system? During World War II polyurethane was beginning to see many new uses. One of the discoveries while experimenting with polyurethane was that if you mix resin with a surfactant or blowing agent the mixture would create thousands of tiny bubbles or closed cells which act as an excellent water barrier as well as insulator. Once these two chemicals are mixed, the liquid rises like dough and is fully activated in approximately 5 seconds. In just over 30 seconds, the foam is cured and can be walked on. An SPF roof system is just that, a roof system! All other roofs do not function as a complete system, meaning that these roofs must be applied in pieces. Whether it is a plastic sheet that is custom built for your roof, tar & gravel or a roof heated to bond, all but an SPF roof are applied piece by piece using caulking, hot tar or a number of other temporary glues, mastic & caulking. The SPF roof system is applied as a liquid. It rises & dries to a solid and covers your entire roof surface as a monolithic insulation blanket. There are NO SEAMS and no breaks in the roof penetrations. Therefore, it is impossible for your roof to leak, we GUARANTEE IT!
